Legal Basis for Processing Data

Under privacy laws like the GDPR, we must have a "legal basis" for using your data:

  • Account and billing information is processed to perform our contract with you.
  • Course usage data and service improvement are based on our legitimate business interests in operating and improving the platform.
  • Marketing communications, if any, are based on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
§ 03

How We Store and Process Your Data

Cloud Hosting: We host our platform on cloud infrastructure operated by trusted third-party providers. We select providers and storage regions to support strong privacy protections for your data. Our cloud infrastructure providers, payment processors, and email service providers are contractually bound to protect your personal information and process it only on our behalf.

User Local Storage: All output documents (such as generated AI Impact Assessments or corrected policies) are saved exclusively by you to your local computer or your own cloud space.

§ 04

International Data Transfers

We aim to store and process your account data in jurisdictions recognized as providing an adequate level of data protection, such as Canada (which is recognized by the European Commission as providing adequate protection). Where your data is processed in or transferred to other jurisdictions by our service providers, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or other lawful transfer mechanisms permitted under applicable law.
